The sight of snowclad jagged peaks for as far as the eye can see would remain etched permanently in my brain. Fast forward 2 decades. In that time period, I had finished medical school in India, residency training in the U.S.A. and relocated from New York City to Upstate New York. It was an invitation from a friend to go climbing in the Adirondacks that reawakened the love of the mountains. The year was 1997. I was now 36 years old.
